Remember the pundits that were saying that the Selection Committee made a mistake about the Syracuse Orange, and that they didn't belong in the March Madness field? Well, they've proven a lot of people wrong by crashing the Final Four party and becoming the first No. 10 seed to make it this far.

The Orange (+800 to win the NCAA Tournament at the sportsbooks) have won the Midwest Region and will take on the East Region winners, North Carolina (EVEN), in an all-ACC showdown this weekend.

There are a number of casino battlegrounds across the United States as both those for and against gambling clash. The latest hotspot happens to be in southern Maine where lawmakers are debating Cumberland County and York County, near where two other casinos currently operate. On Wednesday, the House voted to defeat the bill that would establish a third casino in the region.

The NCAA Tournament field of 68 has been narrowed to 16 teams and now we have a much clearer picture of who's going to win it all. There have been a lot of upsets - as per usual - but there are a lot of strong teams left in the mix, including all four No. 1 seeds.

    March 21, 2016

It's been a wild ride to the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Tournament but there is plenty of quality left. All four No. 1 seeds have survived to this point, along with two No. 2's, two No. 3's, two No. 4's, and two No. 5's.

The lowest seed still in the mix is No. 11 Gonzaga (-4.5 favorites for their Sweet Sixteen matchup), who will be taking on the second lowest seed, No. 10 Syracuse. Remember how people said Syracuse didn't belong? Well, they're in the Sweet Sixteen and could go further. Their signature 2-3 zone has held their first two opponents to just 50.5 points per game.

    March 15, 2016

The Oregon Ducks are the No. 1 seed in the West Region but they're not even favored to win the quadrant. And while they're one of the four No. 1 seeds in the 2016 NCAA Tournament, they're actually sixth in line to win it all behind Kansas (+500), Michigan State (+500), North Carolina (+700), Kentucky (+1000) and Virginia (+1200).

Are we sleeping on the Ducks, who are at +325 in the West and +1400 overall?

  • Michigan State Basketball
    March 15, 2016

Michigan State isn't even the No. 1 seed in their region, let alone overall in the NCAA Tournament. However, they're still a +500 co-favorite to win it all and are the clear-cut favorite at +175 to win the Midwest Region. That's because of who else is in their bracket.

The North Carolina Tar Heels enter the NCAA Tournament with plenty of momentum. They won the ACC regular season title, they won the ACC tournament, and they are now the +200 favorite to emerge from the East Region.

While the Tar Heels are favored in the East, there are four other teams inside of 10/1, so don't expect them to breeze to the Final Four. West Virginia (+400), Kentucky (+500), Xavier (+600) and Indiana (+800) are going to have plenty to say in the East.

Selection Sunday is in the rearview mirror, which means we can now focus on the field of 68 and the specific regions. The South is headlined by the Kansas Jayhawks, who are the No. 1 seed in that section of the bracket and are favored at +500 to win the NCAA Tournament.

  • Ovechkin Capitals
    March 10, 2016

The Washington Capitals have not had much playoff success over the last decade despite qualifying for the postseason in seven of the last eight years. This year is supposed to be different, though, as the Capitals are the +375 favorites on the odds to win the Stanley Cup.

    March 09, 2016

As Donald Trump has been campaigning to become the Republican Party's nominee in the 2016 Presidential Election, we've heard a lot about his businesses - especially the ones that have gone bankrupt. However, one of those businesses - the Trump Taj Mahal casino in Atlantic City - is set to exit bankruptcy and has been taken over by Carl Icahn.
