Just when you think you have enough information to get a good idea of what to expect in the NFL, the league throws you some curveballs. The Kansas City Chiefs, Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Rams started a combined 10-0 and they are a combined 0-8 since. The Chiefs will have an early opportunity to end their losing streak, which is where we’ll start our weekly preview of the top games in the NFL this week:

Kansas City Chiefs @ Denver Broncos

Odds: Chiefs -3.5

Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City offense have been held to an average of 18.5 points per game in those two losses. Now they have to travel on a short week to a tough environment to face a Denver side that has hit its stride with back-to-back wins over the Los Angeles Chargers and Tennessee Titans. The Chiefs are a 3.5-point favorite on the road, which is a low line but remember that Mahomes is with an ankle injury that has really impacted his performance in the last couple of games.

Arizona Cardinals @ New York Giants

Odds: Giants -3

Don’t look now but Daniel Jones and the Giants are one game back of top spot in the NFC East. New York is coming off a couple of ugly losses to good teams but now they return off a bye and get running back Saquon Barkley back in time for an important home date against Kyler Murray and the Cardinals. This will be a matchup of the top two quarterbacks drafted in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Baltimore Ravens @ Seattle Seahawks

Odds: Seahawks -3.5

Lamar Jackson ran for 152 yards and a touchdown in last week’s 23-17 win over the Cincinnati Bengals. He’s also thrown for 1,507 yards and 11 touchdowns this season. Now he and the Ravens take their show on the road to a tough environment in Seattle. The Seahawks are 5-1 and are quarterbacked by the leading MVP candidate, Russell Wilson, who has 14 touchdowns and no interceptions this season. This will be an intriguing matchup of different quarterback styles.

Philadelphia Eagles @ Dallas Cowboys

Odds: Cowboys -3

Coming off three straight losses including an ugly 24-22 defeat at the hands of Sam Darnold and the New York Jets last week, it won’t get any easier for Dallas. The Cowboys welcome the NFC East rival Eagles to town for a prime-time Sunday Night Football matchup that features the top two teams in the division. Can Dak Prescott and company finally get back on track with a crucial win over a hated rival? Eagles head coach Doug Pederson has guaranteed a win. We’ll see if the Eagles can come through.

New York Jets @ New England Patriots

Odds: Patriots -10

Despite their 0-4 start, the Jets are coming off an impressive win over the Cowboys in Darnold’s return. That victory, combined with a relatively weak schedule makes, New York an intriguing team to keep an eye on moving forward. New England has won six straight to open the season but they are pretty beat up on the offensive side of the football. Can the Jets force the Patriots to break a sweat? The New York Giants did for a little while last week. Maybe a steady effort from the Jets can give the Patriots a bit of a challenge.
