Weekend Football Setup: Broncos, Crimson Tide Betting Favorites

Peyton Manning will be poised to smash Brett Favre’s all-time career passing yard record when he leads the Denver Broncos into Indianapolis on Sunday to take on the Colts as 5-point betting favorites at the sportsbooks.

Manning threw for 340 yards last weekend in a decisive 29-10 win over Green Bay, marking the fifth time in his career he has led a team to a 7-0 start.

Denver also picked up the against the spread win, knocking off Green Bay while pegged as 2.5-point home underdogs, extending their ATS unbeaten streak to three games.

The Colts have stumbled to a dismal 3-5 SU record, placing them alongside the Houston Texans atop the AFC South standings just a half-game ahead of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Indianapolis also has just one win at home heading into Sunday’s matchup at Lucas Oil Stadium, but are undefeated in their last five home dates with the Broncos.

Meanwhile, the Packers face an undefeated squad for a second straight week when they visit the Carolina Panthers as 3-point road favorites

Green Bay has been a stellar home team, winning 13 straight at Lambeau Field, but has produced mixed results on the road, going 4-4 SU and ATS in its last eight.

The Panthers have carried over last season’s strong finish into the current campaign, winning SU in their last 11 regular season contests, 7-4 ATS, but going just 2-6 SU in their last eight against the Packers, 3-5 ATS.

In Week 10 college football betting action, the LSU Tigers visit the Alabama Crimson Tide as 7-point underdogs. The Tigers opened at No. 2 in this week’s College Football Playoff rankings on the strength of a 7-0 SU record

The 7-1 Crimson Tide, meanwhile, have ridden a five-game SU win streak to a No. 4 ranking, and are 4-0 SU and 2-1-1 ATS in their last four games against the rival Tigers.

And No. 8 TCU will be looking to bolster their CFP ranking when they battle No. 14 Oklahoma State as 5-point road favorites. The Horned Frogs own a perfect 8-0 SU record, scoring 44 or more points on four occasions, but have allowed almost 24 points per game over their last six outings.

The Cowboys also enter Week 10 at 8-0, and have been simply dominant in their last two, averaging 64 points per game in recent wins over Kansas and Texas Tech. However, they were crushed 42-9 by the Horned Frogs last season, ending a brief two-game SU win streak against their Big 12 rivals.
