Casino News: Seminole Hard Rock Tower, North Las Vegas Casino Crash

Casino News - Seminole Hard Rock Casino Tower

This week’s casino news delivers a range of highs and lows for players at the tables: guitar-shaped casino towers, Vegas resort crashes involving Winnebegos, and a $1.2 million Loto-Quebec jackpot. We’ll start with some good news where one of the most uniquely shaped casinos in the world has finally opened up.

Seminole Hard Rock’s Guitar-Shaped Hotel Tower Finally Opens

One of the coolest-looking hotels has finally opened its doors. The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood has unveiled the 36-story guitar-shaped hotel tower located just south of Fort Lauderdale. The Tribe finished $1.5 billion renovation of the South Florida Casino, which includes new restaurants, bars, the doubling of gaming space and, of course, the brand-new tower. The new look opened with a red-carpet celebration that featured several different celebrities.

Home to multiple World Poker Tour stops each year, the brand-new poker room held a celebrity cash game that featured Miami Marlins outfielder Jeff Conine, five-time WSOP bracelet winner Jason Mercier, his wife and poker pro Natasha Mercier. From the illuminating entrances leading into the room to the various different decorations that add to its look, this poker room in particular is truly something to behold. The largest of several Seminole properties throughout the Sunshine State, the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino will host The Lucky Hearts Poker Open, the Seminoles Hard Rock Poker Showdown, the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open and the Rock N’ Roll Poker Open.

With the renovations now complete, this location now has a 7,000-seat casino floor, 1,200 hotel rooms and more than 3,000 slot machines and table games.

Woman Crashes Winnebago into North Las Vegas Casino

There are all kinds of different stories about sore losers in Las Vegas that just can’t stand suffering bad beats at the casinos. This one might take the cake.

Jennifer Stitt intentionally drove her Winnebago into the front doors of the North Las Vegas casino in retaliation for the casino asking her to leave for disorderly conduct. Stitt, who had been forced out of the casino by security, trespassed onto the property in the most ridiculous way possible. The worst part about the whole incident is the fact that the woman hit a custodian in the process and is now facing an attempted murder charge. The custodian, who had been pinned under the rubble after the collision, is expected to survive despite suffering critical injuries.

Meanwhile, Stitt was arrested on site and charged but to this point, we have no inclination as to why Stitt was upset in the first place. She had been drinking during her stay at the casino and that seems to have factored into the outburst but it’s unclear what happened inside of the casino that forced a confrontation with security and pushed her over the edge. Fortunately, nobody else was hurt in a terrible incident as it really could have been a lot worse.

Saguenay Man Scores On $1.2 Million At Casino Slot Machine

Loto-Quebec has confirmed that a man from the Saguenay region scored a massive jackpot worth nearly $1.2 million – the biggest in the casino’s history. The man, who is a recent retiree that decided to remain anonymous, risked only $2.25 at the machine and ended up clearing over a million dollars playing in the Casino de Charlevoix during a visit to La Malbie.

Quebec casinos and the Loto-Quebec have now paid out about 15 prizes worth $1 million or more since the start of 2016.
