It was a lucky few days for La La Anthony, the model-actress and former bae of Carmelo Anthony. The actress, best known for playing Lakeisha Grant in the Showtime hit Power, won $68K at a New Orleans casino while visiting the area for the annual Essence Music Festival. La La, who is in the middle of a split with Carmelo, shared the story with more than eight million followers on her Instagram account. The Instagram story began with the actress putting $200 in the slot machine. In the next clip, the numbers on the slot machine continued to rise until it reached a grand total of $68K.
Prior to the big win, La La had celebrated her 36th birthday with close friends and family in Atlantic City. While she might not have known it at the time, the trip to New Orleans was exactly what she needed to help her as she continues her split from the former NBA star.
London, Ontario Set To Receiver Massive New Casino In Near Future
Gaming giants Gateway have revealed their plans for a brand-new casino in the London, Ontario area. According to the project release, which has been given the green light by officials and city planners, the casino is scheduled to open in 2021.
The new casino, which is expected to be called the “Starlight Casino”, is expected to bring as many as 700 new jobs to the area. This isn’t the first time that Gateway has produced major plans to bring a massive new casino to the area, though. A couple of years ago, Gateway put forward a $140 million plan to open a new casino to the Western Fairgrounds. While they couldn’t get a deal done then, there is no reason to expect their plans for this project not to move forward.
NFL Targets Famed Bellagio Fountains As Venue For 2020 Draft
The 2020 NFL Draft is set to take place in Las Vegas, Nevada. According to the committee planning the event, the league could be targeting the famed Bellagio Fountains as the main stage for the event. The Las Vegas Review-Journal obtained 1,500 pages of planning documents that includes a design to build a stage that hovers above the iconic fountains. The NFL Draft, which draws hundreds of thousands of visitors every year, is another excellent opportunity for football fans to get out to the Las Vegas area.
According to another report, Las Vegas is already feeling the boom that comes with the annual event as room rates have soared for the 2020 NFL Draft weekend. Rooms at the Bellagio are up from $379 per night to $549 per night. Meanwhile, rooms at The Venetian are up from $243 per night to $532 per night and rooms at the Cosmopolitan are up from $270 per night to a staggering $625 per night. The NFL Draft is already a spectacle in its own right. With the Bellagio Fountains targeted for next year’s event, it could push the spectacle to another level in 2020.
